Let me tell you about life. It can be full of the greatest ideas, events, and purpose. Life however needs to balance out, meaning there is just as much bad parts as good. Do not get me wrong but maybe these situations are healthy for the mind and soul. We are put on this earth with others just like us, but different in their own ways. Through out my eighteen years of life; I have learned so far it is better off to learn patients, be strong, and enjoy the little things. One good concept to remember is the mind is everything.
One of my top three guiding principles to life would be Patients. The best synonyms for patient are calm, forgiving, gentle, tolerant, long-suffering and understanding. Perfect! All though I might not be the most patient person, I definitely believe you should have this skill for the “Real World.” This skill is most likely easier to learn the older you get, but still very important. To get by in this world, you have to get through twelve years of school, plus college, plus many hard-worked years, of most likely, a shitty job or jobs. In the job(s) you will meet many coworkers and customers. Your day might consist of impatient customers being loud in line or coworkers blowing off steam in your direction. Step one: breathe and stay calm. Forgive everyone that has been, as gentle as they can be. They might have it worse then you. Step two: be tolerant of this long-suffering understanding of people. Step three: conquering the master skill of patients.
My second to guiding principle would be, being the strongest person you can be. My opinion, is to be emotional and physically strong. Life is full of emotional stress and demanding fatigue. On the bright side, things will be okay. The sun will always shine. I started to do some research on Buddha. I feel as if I am a very spiritual person. I thought it would be neat to add some quotes from the Great Cosmos. “Everything is subject to the cause of law and effect so when we change our thoughts and our state of mind, our human relationships, health and financial circumstances change too.” It continues to say, “The causes of pain and suffering do not lie with others or the outside world but are actually created by ourselves.” As I read on, I thought about life. Actually my life, how I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and currently realizing I am bipolar. “The mind is everything.” Be strong so you can control the stresses of life. Other people might just try to make you weak. Just stay strong even through the good times.
The last but not least guiding principle would be, enjoy the little things. My all time favorite pick-me-up quotes. Might seem silly to laugh at the little things, but trust me. In life, that laugh could be a necessary meaning in your life. When down, try to think positive and things will work out. Let’s think about this, “When confronted with difficulties and hardships. Instead, since these are opportunities for learning, we come to ask ourselves what it is that we can learn from them.” Once the lesson is learned, we have something to smile about. Once that smile grows the soul grows. Now we can enjoy the little things in life. Because life is great!
Like I said before, one good concept to remember is the mind is everything. Life has its ups and downs. It would not be the circle of life without positives and negatives. My reflection on life is simple but complex. What I mean by that is life can be complicated, you just gotta’ give it your best and fight back. Don’t let your mind win. Don’t let others change the outcome of your opinions. Be patient with this world. Be strong and definitely enjoy the little things. “You are born on this Earth once every few hundred or few thousand years so that you may work with many types of people in new circumstances to refine your soul further. Life on this Earth is not necessarily filled with good experiences, but before you were born, you all knew this.”
